How to Delete Old Facebook Posts Using Social Book Post Manager
You cannot
delete your decades-old Facebook post in
just one click since Facebook is not providing any ‘Delete Everything’ button.
Thus, if you want to remove or delete something, then you must have to review
all the activities manually and then delete it from your account. But if you want, then you can delete posts in a bunch by using a simple browser extension for
Chrome called as Social Book Post Manager.
However,
Facebook intentionally keeps a record of your activities for gathering data and
then using it to construct your personal Facebook profile, so if you have
definite apprehensions about this activity,
then you can try using the Social Book Manager Extension for Chrome.
Delete Old Facebook Posts Using
Social Book Post Manager
1. Click to Add the Social Book Post
Manager extension to Chrome.
2. Next, open your Facebook account by entering
login credentials.
3. Then, navigate to the “Activity Log”
option.
4. You will instantly be redirected to a page which shows all your
recent activity you have had on your profile including all the post you liked,
shared, friends you added in your profile and lots more.
5. Now, select the option “Remain on
this Page.”
6. After that, choose a filter you want
to delete appear on the left sidebar of the window.
7. Click on the Social Book Post
Manger’s icon to open the extension.
8. When finished, a list of filters that
you can use to delete posts on Facebook will appear on the screen.
9. Now, you need to specify the filters
to set the type of posts that should be removed
from your Facebook account.
Note: there
is an option called as ‘Prescan on Page,’ if you checked this it would show you posts that will be deleted from your account. And if you find
it ok, then you can delete them permanently from your account by just clicking
on the Confirmation button. Always remember that once you deleted the post, it cannot be
recovered.
Moreover,
this ‘Prescan on page’ process is not so quick and can take a long time to finish it. However, it severely
depends on the number of post-its
involved. Therefore, Facebook does not encourage the users to delete all the posts easily. And as a
result, they cannot offer shortcuts to delete multiple posts in just one go.
As your
desired extensions fail to work, then it
might be possible that some other Google Chrome extensions
are interfering it. Try to disable or delete other Chrome extensions
temporarily from your Google Chrome. Then, restart your computer system and
check again if the Social Book Post Manager works.
